CAP AND IOC Share Sir Vizzy Tournament Championship

Sir Vizzy Trophy : CAP Vs IOC (Dr.PVG Raju Aca. Sports Complex)

Vizianagaram, 01 Sep’19:
The smooth sailing Sir Vizzy Tournament witnessed the unexpected in the final played between IOC and Cricket Association of Pondicherry at Dr.PVG Raju Aca. Sports Complex, Vizianagaram. Put into bat, IOC started disastrously losing the top order with score reading 38 for four in the eleventh over. CAP’s attack was strong enough to see that even the veteran Wasim Jaffar, who scored a brilliant 75 off 74 balls with 10 fours and one six; and experienced Aditya Tare (58 off 81 balls) with Paresh Patel (59 off 50 balls) could not try for a big target and IOC was restricted to 252 all out off 50 overs.

Early jolt to IOC by Ashith:
Ashith Rajiv Sanganakal gave the initial jolt to IOC by dismissing the top order by dismissing the opener Amir Gani and the no.3 batsman Ankush Bains cheaply and finished with the figures of 3 for 39 off 10 overs. Ashith was well supported by Sagar, who took 2 for 51.

In pursuit of the target of 253, CAP also started shakily with the openers Arun Karthik and the skipper Rohit back in the pavilion for 20 and 12 respectively. However, with the interruption by heavy showers in the ninth over when the score was 42 for 2, play was stopped and when the umpires decided that the play was not possible, the championship of Sir Vizzy Tournament was shared by CAP and IOC.
