Puducherry too hot for Meghalaya

The four day match of Col. C.K.Nayudu Trophy between Puducherry and Meghalaya being played at MCA Cricket Ground, Polo Ground, Shillong, was too hot after Meghalaya won the toss and chose to field first, as Puducherry top order, who are in good form, were at ease to score runs at will.

Puducherry opener George was dismissed for 20 off 25 balls with 4 fours when the team’s score was 21. Then, the ever dependable Paras Ratnaparkhe joined the other opener Ragu to take the team to 158 with a partnership of 137 runs for the second wicket. Ragu was out for a patient 63 off 90 balls with 11 fours. Then with a sudden fall of 3 wickets including Paras Ratnaparkhe out for 79 off 81 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes, Puducherry was in a spot of bother with the score at 187 for 5. With little support from the rest, Akash Kargave scored 63 off 76 balls with 10 fours and eventually Puducherry was all out for 276 off 62.3 overs in the first innings.

For Meghalaya, Karthik Pawar was the chief wrecker, who returned with a dream spell of 8 for 89 off 24.3 overs.

Sidak Singh and Aravind on Cloud Nine jolt Meghalaya
