U-14 Boys Inter-State Tournament – Sai Hariram leads Puducherry’s fight

The inter-state tournament match for Boys Under-14 between Puducherry and Hyderabad was played at ACA Academy Ground, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. Having won the toss, Puducherry elected to bat first. After losing two quick wickets, in the company of one of the openers Jaswanth, Sai Hariram steadied the drifting ship. After the loss of Jaswanth, who scored 18 off 100 balls with 3 fours, when the score was 78 and the next wicket of Raghavan dismissed for naught, Mukesh, who scored 26 off 75 balls with one four gave good company to Sai Hariram to post a fighting total. Sai Hariram scored 72 off 114 balls with 7 fours, which led Puducherry to post a total of 187 off 89.5 overs. For Hyderabad, Pattapu Raghava took 2 for 43 and Abishek Murgan took 2 for 17.

With a target of 188 to win, Hyderabad was sailing smooth and looking good at 124 for four and after the dismissal of Aravelly Avanish Rao, who scored 71 off 140 balls with 11 fours, Hyderabad started losing wickets regularly and was all eventually all out for 187 off 85.3 overs and scores were tied. For Puducherry, Arun Sarwan took 3 for 35 off 16 overs, 9 of which were maiden overs, while Thekkeveetil Surya took 2 for 48, Shree Varshan took 2 for 13 off 13 overs and Jashwanth took 2 for 33 off 10.3 overs.

Puducherrry and Hyderabad shared a point each.
