Having won the toss and chosen to bat first, Mizoram realized that it makes no difference whether to bat or bowl first against a strong opponent, as the top order was back in the pavilion with the score reading 43 for 5 in the eighteenth over with only Divyansh Joshi defying all the odds and was brisk in making his contribution to the team. Pondicherry bowlers Vinay Pratap Singh, Arbaaz Uddin, Aryan Bangar and S.Nithish Kumar took two wickets each to bundle out Mizoram for 130 all out off 40.4 overs. Though the wickets were falling freely at the other end Divyan Joshi scored more than run a ball when he was out for 79 off 67 balls with seven fours and five sixes, to take his team beyond hundred.
In reply, as the target was easy to achieve, Pondicherry batsmen had all the freedom to fancy their shorts and scored freely to reach 132 for 2 off just 26.3 overs with a run rate of 4.94 and won the match by 8 wickets.
