In the Women’s Cricket Under-16 T20 League and Knockout South-Zone Inter-State tournament match played at CAP Siechem Cricket Ground, Tutipet, between Puducherry and Goa, the host struggled to find a firm footing to display a good show. Puducherry won the toss and chose to bat first. In the first over of the match the home team lost opener Lavanya and Yuvashri for naught and staring at 2 for 0. But, there was a little respite when Rohini Rajasekaran, who scored 24 off 52 balls, was well supported by Amruta Saran Satsanghi (10 off 24 balls with one four) to take the score to 27 when the third wicket fell. With 7 batsmen dismissed for naught, Puducherry scored 65 for 9 off 25 overs. For Goa, Riya Dhoble took 3 for 15 and Sivali Kolambkar took 3 for 16 while Taniya Pawar took 2 for 14.
With a small target to reach, Goa scored 66 for 1 off 14.4 overs to win the match by 9 wickets and 10.2 overs to spare.
