Women’s U-19 One Day Trophy 2019-20 : Pondicherry Vs Bihar (KORM College Ground)

No matter who the opponent is when the team’s batting and bowling are in good synchronization, is scripted once again by Pondicherry in the Women U-19 One Day Trophy against Bihar. After choosing to bat first, Bihar would have never thought that the proceedings would be so tough against a good bowling and fielding side as they lost more than half the team to see themselves at 39 for 8, which was caused by Pondicherry with a disciplined bowling and fielding. Heena Hotchandani and Subiktsha shared the initial honours as both had their hand in the dismissal of the top 7 batswomen of Bihar. Though the team was in precarious condition, no.8 batswoman Aarya stood firm to remain unbeaten on 37 off 81 balls, who was well supported by no.10 Komal R.Kumari, who was run out for 31 off 54 balls, Bihar was able to reach a fighting score of 124 all out. Pondicherry bowler Heena Hotchandani took 3 for 9, while Subktsha took 3 for 19.
In reply, Pondicherry started with a jolt when opener Nithya was dismissed for 1. But, the partnership of 52 runs for the second wicket between Yuvashri and Roshini (26), took the team closer to the target. After the fall of Roshini and Yuvashri for 34 off 54 balls, Heena Hotchandani carried on with the tail to remain unbeaten on 37 off 76 balls to take the team past the finish line to reach 125 for 7. Bihar bowler Tejeshwi took 4 for 18 to pose some threat, but, Pondicherry won by 3 wickets to remain on top of the table.
