M.Vignesh, the rookie opener for Pondicherry, scored his maiden century in the first innings against Mizoram, playing only his 3rd Ranji match, with a patient knock of 102 at the CAP-Siechem Cricket ground at Pondicherry. Vignesh made his maiden century off 127 deliveries; with 11 fours and a six. Vignesh was involved in a good opening partnership of 70 runs with Thalaivan Sargunam, and continued the same with 46 runs stand with skipper D.Rohit and 41 runs stand with Abishek Nayar to ensure that Pondicherry gains a good lead in the first innings. This knock should do a lot of good to this youngster who shows great promise.
