Karthik Sukumaran and Vikneshwaran Marimuthu shine with the bat:
With the good opening start provided by skipper Rohit (29 off 47 balls) with Karthik Sukumaran, though the middle order had a feeble shake, the rest took CAP to safety against HPCA in the Sir Vizzy Tournament. Put into bat, the openers scored briskly to reach 72 when skipper Rohit was out in the 17th over, Vikneshwaran Marimuthu scored a fluent 61 off 59 balls, to finish at 252 for 8 off 50 overs. For HPCA Nitin Sharma, Chahat and Digvijay took two wickets each.
Santha Moorthy and Sidak Singh among wickets:
Set a target of 253, HPCA lost the openers cheaply and it was the wicket-keeper Shubham Arora who wage a lone battle, but could not find any partner as wickets were falling at regular intervals. Shubham Arora scored a patient knock of 90 off 122 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes.
Santha Moorthy returned with the figures of 4 for 35 off 7.3 overs in the company of Sidak Singh, who had another 3 wicket haul to return with 3 for 29 off 9 overs and took CAP to victory by 34 runs.
With this win, CAP goes to the top of the points table with 8 points.
