Vijay Merchant Trophy 2019-20 : CAP Vs Goa (Goa Cricket Association Academy)
Parorim, 08 Nov’19:
Winning the toss and electing to bat first was effectively utilized by the Pondicherry openers, who put on the opening partnership of 55 runs. However, the loss of momentum was felt with the no.3 and no.4 batsmen falling cheaply. But, this did not deter Akash Pugazhandhi, the no.5 batsman, who stepped in to stem the rot when the score was 82 for 3. Akash Pugazahandhi took control of the proceedings with his patient knock which took 183 balls and to remain unbeaten on 118 with 11 boundaries in the company of R.S.Muthamizhan (16 off 32 balls) and V.V.Venkateswaran (33 off 80 balls with 5 boundaries). With more than half of the batting line up not firing, Akash Pugazhandhi stood firm and took Pondicherry to a moderate total of 266 all out.
