When a 50 overs a side match ends before the lunch and players pack off for the day, Pondicherry Under-23 captain Amarnath cannot ask for anything better than this from his bowlers. The duo Satish Jangir and Abhijeet Saranath presented the most unexpected win to the captain by demolishing the Arunachal Pradesh batting line up with devastating spell.
From the fourth over Arunachal Pradesh’s batting, Pondicherry attack was like a red hot sword cutting the soft butter, when Ashar Jamal was run out by Santhosh Kumaran for 3 and from where Satish Jangir penetrated into the opponent camp with five quick wickets, to return with figures of 5 for 16 off 9 overs, who was supported by Abhijeet Saranath equally with a haul of 4 for 12 off 4.5 overs. Arunachal Pradesh was bundled for 44 off 18.5 overs.
With less than fifty for a win, Pondicherry openers Yash Jadhav and Kaladi ensured that the team wins with all the wickets in hand. With Yash Jadhav unbeaten on 36 off 22 balls with 8 fours and Kaladi not out on 6 Pondicherry won the match by ten wickets with the score 47 for no loss off 4.5 overs.
