It was yet another forgettable match for Puducherry as they lost the way against Madhya Pradesh in the Women’s Cricket U-23 T-20 League and Knockout Tournament match played at SCA Stadium, Khanderi, Rajkot. Madhya Pradesh, who won the toss and chose to bat first, had a good start as the openers were sailing smooth. After the fall of first wicket, there was a good partnership of 38 runs between Charu Joshi and Nikita Singh as the due took the score to 70 and it was well supported by reasonable partnerships for the third and fourth wickets and Madhya Pradesh scored 141 for 6 off 20 overs. Skipper Charu Joshi, who opened the innings, scored 43 off 53 balls with 3 fours and Nikita Singh scored a quick fire 34 off 24 balls with 5 fours. Puducherry bowler Kushboo Verma took 3 for 21 off 4 overs.
With a tough target, when Puducherry started their innings with the fall of Sandhya Mounika for naught, only Ramya Maharajan scored 33 off 63 balls with 4 fours and the rest could not push the score. Eventually, Puducherry scored 60 for 5 off 20 overs and paved the way for Madhya Pradesh to win the match by 81 runs.
