Having won the toss and chosen to bat first against Puducherry in the Men’s Cricket U-23 One Day League and Knockout tournament, Nagaland lost two early wickets and tiny partnerships to recover was not sufficient as they were struggling at 87 for 7 in the 26th over. However, the tail took the team to some respectability to post 205 for 9 off 50 overs. Abhishek, batting at no.7, scored 42 off 47 balls and no.8 batsman Nagaho scored 33 off 55 balls. Puducherry bowlers Madhan, Satish Jangir, Sidak Singh and Sowrrowsingh took 2 wickets each.
In reply, though opener Ragu was out early, the other opener Akash Kargave and Paras Ratnaparkhe struck form and scored easily. Akash Kargave played a responsible innings and scored 77 off 88 balls and his partner Paras Ratnaparkhe remained unbeaten at 93 off 114 balls. Puducherry won the match by 7 wickets with more than 7 overs to spare and gained 4 points.
