B.S.Tamore (137 n.o.) and Karuna Jain (95 n.o.) Propels Pondicherry to Comfortable Win Against Mizoram

Womens SR One Day Trophy 2019-20 : Pondicherry Vs Mizoram (CAP Ground-2)

Puducherry, 05 Mar’20:
Starting with the loss of opener Latika Kumari for naught after being into bat, B.S.Tamore found good company in Divya Shanmugam (11) to build a partnership of 55 runs for the second wicket with the latter was dismissed. But, not perturbed by this, Tamore went on attack mode to score her first fifty off 56 balls and found her partner Karuna Jain also scoring a good pace, who reached her fifty off 61 balls.

B.S.Tamore scores her second ton
Going at a good pace, B.S.Tamore shifted to top gear and also rotated the strike to enable her partner Karuna Jain to score freely. As the unbroken partnership went on from strength to strength to take the score to 206for 2, while B.S.Tamore crossed the land mark of 100 off 115 balls and went on to remain unbeaten on 137 off 155 balls, her partner Karuna Jain ran out of luck to have a century under her belt as she remained unbeaten on 95 when the innings came to close with the score of 261 for 2off 50 overs.

Divya Shanmugam and Rebecca control Mizoram
Though Mizoram also started like Pondicherry, losing the opener without a run on the board when Omomi was dismissed by Tamore, in the first over for naught, it was almost a replica of Pondicherry’s innings as the second wicket realised 54 runs for the second wicket when Rebecca removed Prajakta for 17. From there on, only Buley Ruchita stood firm amidst ruins as the wickets were falling at one end without any resistance to remain unbeaten on 72 off 100 balls. Eventually, Mizoram was all out for 138. Divya Shanmugam took 3 for 26 and Rebecca took 2 for 17 as Pondicherry won the match by a margin of 123 runs and remained on top of the table with four more points.
