Comfortable Innings Victory for Pondicherry against Arunachal Pradesh in Cooch Behar Trophy

Pondicherry lad Pooviarasan took advantage of the new ball after Arunachal Pradesh opted to bat first in the Cooch Behar Trophy match played at Siechem Stadium, Puducherry. After consuming the Arunachal opener Abhay for 4 early in the innings, Pooviarasan went on to take wickets regularly to return with figures of 4 for 41 as Arunachal Pradesh was all out for 114 in their first innings, which saw some resistance from Anup, who scored 70 off 74 balls.

Shreeraj continues his good form
In reply to Arunachal Pradesh’s score of 114, Pondicherry started disastrously with the loss of Mohanraghul for naught. However, the second wicket partnership of Shashank and Shreeraj realised 84 runs when the former was out for 34. Skipper Shreeraj stood firm at one end even though there was no big partnership being built and went on to score yet another century and was out for 122 off 143 balls with twenty two boundaries and Pondicherry was all out for 265; with a lead of 114 runs in the first innings. For Arunachal Pradesh, Abhay took 4 for 37.

Arbaaz Uddin and Aryan Bangar take their turn
In the second innings of Arunachal Pradesh, Arbaaz Uddin and Aryan Bangar regularly struck to restrict the opponent to 112 all out in their second innings and to win the batch by and innings and 39 runs. Arbaaz Uddin returned with figures of 5 for 28 off 10.5 overs, while Aryan Bangar returned with figures of 3 for 17 off 13 overs.
