Having chosen to bat, Arunachal Pradesh was off to a disastrous start losing the top three batsmen with the score reading 23 for 3 in the 10th over against Puducherry in the Womens Cricket U-23 One Day League, played at Bhubaneshwar. Puducherry bowler Payal Balmik returned with 3 for 8 for 7 overs with 4 maidens and Nandini took 2 for 19 off 4 overs while Janaki, Moumee Sasmal and Soundarya took a wicket each to bundle Arunachal Pradesh for 56 off 29 overs.
Though Puducherry also started like Arunachal Pradesh, losing the top 3 batsmen for 24 runs on the board in the 13th overs, the small target gave enough energy for the rest to reach the score 57 for 4 off 30 overs. Puducherry gained 4 points.
