Good batting effort, but falls short – Puducherry loses to Nagland

In the Womens Cricket U-23 One Day League, played at Vikash Cricket Ground, Bhubneshwar, the opening partnership of 174 runs between Nagaland openers Nazma Khan and Tulika stole the show of the day. Nazma Khan scored a brilliant century and remained unbeaten on 121 off 145 balls with 18 boundaries and her partner Tulika, who played the sheet anchor role, scored a sedate 49 off 131 balls with 4 fours. Nagland scored 216 for 1 for 50 overs.

In reply, Puducherry lost Ramya Maharajan for 6 when the score was 20 in the 10th over. The second wicket partnership of 85 runs between Moumee Sasmal, who scored 63 off 124 balls with 6 boundaries and No.3 batsman Soundhya Mounika (39 off 75 balls with 4 boundaries) took the score to 105 when the latter was dismissed. With regular fall of wicket at regular interval, Puducherry was all out for 178. Nagaland won the match by 37 runs.
