In order to develop cricket from the grass root level, in the first year of it’s functioning as a full member of BCCI, Cricket Association of Pondicherry has one more feather to it’s cap in the form of Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament. The tournament was inaugurated by the Osudu constituency Member of Legislative Assembly, Mr.E. Theeppainthan on Tuesday, the 11th February, 2020 at Karasur Cricket Complex Grounds. Earlier, Mr.V.Chandran, Secretary, CAP, welcomed the gathering and Mr.P.Damodaren, Patron, honoured Mr.Theeppainthan, M.L.A. with a shawl and spoke among the participating teams. The league stages of this tournament are scheduled to be held from 11th to 21st February, 2020 and the date and venue for the finals will be announced during the course of the tournament.
The tournament is scheduled to be played on 30 overs a side basis with 28 teams from different colleges of all disciplines such as engineering, medical, arts and science participating in the first edition. The umpires, scorers officiating in this tournament are qualified and trained by CAP.
