Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20 : CAP Vs Mizoram (Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium)

Once again Pondicherry skipper Rohit played to his strength immediately after winning the toss by putting Mizoram into bat first in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Dehradun. Pondicherry pacer Vinay Kumar spewed fury immediately by removing Mizoram opener Sailo for naught; snapped by Paras Dogra, which opened the flood gate.

After the opener Sailo was removed by Vinay Kumar, at the other end Sagar Trivedi matched him by taking two quick wickets, who was followed by Ashith also taking the next two wickets. With the top half of the Mizoram team back in the pavilion for 38 runs on the board, it was a merry go round for the Pondicherry bowlers with the skipper D.Rohit also joining the party with three wickets to his tally. Rohit returned with the figures 2.2-1-2-3 wickets with an economy rate of 0.86 while Vinay Kumar returned with the figures of 8-2-14-3 with an economy rate of 1.75 to bundle Mizoram for 67 in the 34th over.
With a tiny target of 68 to win, CAP openers M.Viknesh remained not out on 44 off 40 balls and Paras Dogra unbeaten on 24, to win the match by 10 wickets with the score reading 71 without loss off just 13.2 overs. With this win, Pondicherry remains on top of the table for Plate with 10 points with two wins and one match being abandoned to share two points.
