Sagar Trivedi’s six wicket haul sends Uttarakhand packing rain plays spoil sport – Match Abandoned

Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20 : CAP Vs Uttarakhand (Abhimanyu Cricket Academy)

Dehradun, 28 Sep’19:
Pondicherry skipper D.Rohit’s prediction that rain may interrupt any time during the course of the day, was the right reason to put Uttarakhand into bat first. This was tremendously supported by the pacer Sagar Trivedi with an explosive spell in the tournament so far. Sagar Trivedi removed both the openers for one run each to make way for other bowlers to tighten the noose, which was grabbed by Vinay Kumar and Sagar Updeshi taking a wicket each quickly, and joined by Fabid Ahmed with a wicket.

Sagar Trivedi breaks the back of Uttarakhand:
After taking three of the first six wickets in the first spell, in spite of a blistering knock by D K Sharma who scored 76 off 48 balls with 4 fours and 8 sixes, Sagar Trivedi sent Uttarakhand packing with a rich haul of six wickets and returned with the figures of 8.2 – 2 – 6 – 50.

Uttarakhand was all out for 172 off 46.4 overs and with a target of 173, rain played the spoil sport and the match was abandoned with the intense spell continuing. Uttarakhand and Pondicherry shared two points each.
