Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2019-20 : CAP Vs Manipur (CAP Ground-2)

It was a good start for Manipur, who won the toss and chose to bat first in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy match played against Pondicherry at CAP Ground-2 as they were going good with the opening partnership of 38 runs in the seventh over. But, the Pondicherry bowlers realised enough is enough and it is time to pierce through the opponent’s batting line up. After one of the openers Suresh Singh was dismissed by Vinay Pratap Singh for 17 in the seventh over, Arbaaz Uddin removed the no.3 batsman Andyroshan in the eighth over and this duo went on to share 3 wickets each and Aryan Bangar claiming two wickets. Jotin Pheiroijam, scored 30 off 84 balls, was the top scorer for Manipur.

Once the opener Suresh Singh was dismissed by Vinay Pratap Singh, who finished with figures of 9.5-0-31-3, Arbaaz Uddin got into the act of taking wicket and finished with figures of 10-4-12-3, who was followed by Aryan Bangar with figures of 2 for 12.
Pondicherry’s Opening pair registers unbeaten century partnership:
In the first match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy for 2019, the opening batsmen of Pondicherry registered the first unbroken century partnership against Manipur. In reply to the target of 110, set by Manipur, Pondicherry openers Aryan Bangar and Shashank displayed a good maturity though the attack of Manipur was weak they were not in a hurry to finish the match fast. The openers took 25 overs to reach the target with a run rate of 4.48. Aryan Bangar remained unbeaten on 47 off 74 balls with 6 fours while his partner Shashank remained unbeaten on 49 off 75 balls with 6 fours to take the score to 112 for no loss off 25 overs.
