Choosing to bat first, Manipur was off to a sedate start, but lost wickets at regular interval to find themselves 71 for 5 in the twenty fifth over in the match against Pondicherry in Womens Sr. One Day Trophy, played at Bangalore. With half of the team back in the pavilion, they could muster only 162 for 6 off 50 overs.
Chasing a target of 163 for a win, though the in-form opener Tamore was out for naught off the first ball she faced, Yuvashri (41 off 62 balls) and Reena, (29 off 108 Balls) though slow for her style of batting, had a partnership of 63 runs for the second wicket. After the fall of Yuvashri (41 off 62 balls) and Roshini (17 off 27 balls), Karuna Jain, took the team to the goal with a timely quick fire 45 off 44 balls as Pondicherry reached 163 for 4 to win the match by 6 wickets.
