Pondicherry Senior Women Team lost the opening match in the Senior Women T-20 League played at Palmyra Cricket Ground, Puducherry, against West Bengal. After winning the toss, host chose to bat first and were off to a slippery start with the opener Ramya Mahajan back in the pavilion in the third over. Opener Lathika Kumari scored a brilliant quick fire 42 off 27 balls with six boundaries and Gouher scored 24 off 26 balls. With frequent fall of wickets, Pondicherry was 106 for 8 off 20 overs. West Bengal bowler S.P.Aich took 3 for 16 off 4 overs.
Though West Bengal started with an early loss of the opener Dipali Shaw, the other opener Paramita Roy (25 off 33 balls) and the No.3 batter Pravita, who scored a brilliant 55 off 49 balls with 9 boundaries, West Bengal was 107 for 3 off 17.4 overs to win the match by 7 wickets.
