Puducherry batting woes continue, misses easy target against Sikkim

Having chosen to bat first after winning the toss in the match against Puducherry, played at Tanush Academy Ground, Dehradun, it was a disastrous start for Sikkim and with Pranita scoring 29 off 67 balls and Nandita scoring a sedate 23 off 58 balls, Sikkim posted a very small score of 96 all out off 45.1 overs. Puducherry bowlers Sumi Dutta took 3 for 16 off 10 overs, which Yuvashri and Tanishka Sen took 2 wickets each.

In pursuit of a small target of 90 runs, after being 72 for 4 in the 31st over when the fourth wicket fell, Puducherry lost the rest of the six wickets just for 17 runs in the next 9 overs and was all out for 89. Rajasthan bowler Simran Gurung took 3 for 8, and Samyita took 2 for 36. Rajasthan won the match by 7 runs.
