The initiative gained by Puducherry bowlers by restricting Manipur, who chose to bat first, for a total of 138 for 8 in 50 overs, in the Womens Cricket U-23 One Day League, played at Vikash Cricket Ground, Bhubaneshwar, was lost while chasing the small target. For Manipur the top scorer was Mr.Extras with 54; followed by wicket-keeper Kabia Badoni, who scored 32 runs off 51 balls.
While chasing the paltry target, Puducherry lost 7 wickets for 45 runs in the 18th over. However, with Nandini scoring 21 runs and Soundrya also scoring 21 runs, some respect was regained, but not enough to win the match. Puducherry was all out for 122 off 43.2 overs enabling Manipur to win the match by 16 runs. For Manipur, V.R.Dharani took 3 for 10 and L.Rajkumari took 3 for 11.
