Puducherry wins comfortably against Nagaland

Puducherry won by 8 wickets against Nagaland in the 3 day match played at Palmyra Cricket Ground, Auroville, Puducherry, to continue the winning streak.

Having won the toss, Nagaland chose to bat first, were all out for 180. Vengat led the attack to finish the first innings of Nagaland with a 5 wicket haul (5 for 45). Vengat was well supported by Sidak Singh (2 for 67) and Aravind (2 for 35). In reply, Puducherry scored 325 and took a lead of 145 in the first innings.

Paras Ratnaparkhe, the No.3 batsman, scored a fluent century (106 off 116 balls). Paras Ratnaparkhe was well supported by Akash Kargave, who scored 90 and the No.8 batsman Aru scored 66.

Trailing by 145 runs, Nagaland started their second essay and were immediately jolted by Bhuvan in the second over. Again in the second innings of Nagaland, Vengat repeated the act of first innings by taking another 5 wicket haul (5 for 37), who was well supported by Sidak Singh, who took (3 for 88) and Bhuvan finished with 2 wickets. Vengat was the Man of the Match.

Set a target of 67 to win, Puducherry won the match by 8 wickets, with the opener Raghu remaining 42 not out. Puducherry gained 6 points to stay at the top of the table with 29 points.
