Having posted an easy target against Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, played at Air-force Complex Ground, New Delhi, the tough fight was in vain for Puducherry. Choosing to bat first, though the openers between Thalaivan Sargunam (17 off 25 balls) and skipper Rohit, who scored a run a ball 37, put on 44 runs for the first wicket, the rest found the going tough and Puducherry ended up scoring 126 for 5 off 20 overs. Baroda bowler L.I.Meriwala took 2 for 22.
In the chase, with a good contribution from the openers Kedar Devdhar (51 off 48 balls) and good contribution from the rest of the top, Baroda reached the target in the last over with the score 128 for 6 off 19.4 overs to win the match.
