Veteran bowler Vinay Kumar simply ran through the top order of Manipur bagging three quick wickets immediately after Manipur chose to bat first in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Match played at Kasiga College Ground, Dehradun. Except a feeble resistance from the skipper Priyojit (44 off 43 balls with four fours and three sixes) and Sultan (27 off 53 balls), it was a formality for the rest. Eventually, Mizoram was bundled out for 109 off 30.1 overs with Vinay Kumar bagging 4 for 21 off 6.1 overs, with a good support from Sagar Udeshi, who took 3 for 26 off 10 overs.
Small target kicks Arun Karthick and Rohit to play fancy shots:
With a small target of 110 to win the match, Pondicherry openers K.B. Arun Karthick and skipper D.Rohit played fancy shots to score at will with power packed strokes until Rohit fell for 28 off 22 balls with 6 fours. However, K.B.Arun Karthick continued his free style to remain unbeaten on 67 off 43 balls with six fours and four sixes. Pondicherry scored 115 for 1 off 16.1 overs with a run rate of 7.11and won the match by 9 wickets to remain at the top of the points table.
