Having been put into bat first, Puducherry started with batting collapse in the Womens Cricket U-23 One Day league against Bihar, played at Ravenshaw University Ground, Cuttack. With half of the team back in the pavilion for just 21 runs on the board, the 6th wicket partnership of 47 runs between Ramya Maharajan (32 off 92 balls) and Payal Balmik (19 runs), took the score to some recovery. After the exit of Ramya Maharajan, Puducherry again lost wickets at regular interval and was all out for 111 off 44.4 overs. Bihar bowler Apurva took 4 for 31 and Nivedita took 3 for 23.
In reply, Bihar top order stood firm and took the score to 32 for the first wicket and then the contribution from the rest was good enough to cruise reach the target of 112 for the loss of 6 wickets. Bihar won the match by 4 wickets.
