A good start by Puducherry against Tamil Nadu lost mid-way

In the South-Zone Under-14 Boys Inter-State Tournament match between Puducherry and Tamil Nadu played at ACA VDCA Visakhapatnam, TamilNadu won the toss and put puducherry into the bat, who had a smooth start with both the openers scoring comfortably. After the fall of opener Kushwanth Silora for 11 when the score was 29, there was a good partnership of 65 runs between Sai Sathiwk, who scored a valuable 51 off 152 balls with five fours and Jashwanth, who ground the opponents for 160 deliveries to score 47 with 5 fours. But, after the fall of Sai Hariram for 11, third wicket, when the score was 121, Puducherry lost the remaining seven wickets for 17 runs and was all out for 138 off 81.1 overs. For Tamil Nadu, Karthik Manikandan took 4 for 32 off 24.1 overs and P.Vignesh took 3 for 34 off 26 overs.

In reply, Tamil Nadu started well and the openers were separated when Shree Varshan dismissed R.A. Harish for 21. Puducherry bowlers quickly seized the opportunity to dismiss the next two batsmen to take control with the score reading 67 for 3. But, thereafter, in the company of the other opener Madhava Prasad, the skipper Rushil Kumar displayed a lovely batting with a partnership of 47 runs for the fourth wicket. After the dismissal of Madhava Prasad for 51 off 124 balls with 10 fours, Rushil Kumar had a partnership of 92 runs for the sixth wicket with Javed Mohamed (41 off 94 balls with 6 fours). Tamil Nadu skipper Rushil Kumar scored a valuable 119 off 162 balls with 16 fours to take the score to 277 for 7 off the allotted 90 overs to take a first innings lead of 139 runs. For Puducherry, Kushwanth Silora took 4 for 62 off 22 overs and Shree Varshan took 2 for 30 off 9 overs.

In the second innings, Puducherry ended the second day at 23 for 4 off 11 overs and with the match being drawn Tamil Nadu gained one point for the first innings lead.
