Pondicherry Loses Direction of both Bowling and Batting – Loses against Delhi

Vijay Hazare Trophy (2020-21): Delhi Vs Pondicherry (Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground)

Jaipur, 23 Feb’21 (09.00 AM):

Opting to field, though Pondicherry bowlers packed off test star Shikar Dhawan for 6 and Himmat Singh Singh for naught, the third wicket partnership of 255 runs between Dhruv Shorey (132 off 142 balls) and no.4 batsman Nitish Rana (137 off 106 balls) proved to be too costly one and Delhi finished their innings with the score 354 for 4 leaving Pondicherry to score 355 for a win in the second outing against Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Though the opening partnership of 43 runs between Rohit and Sheldon Jackson was going good, the advantage of let off with the fall of both in quick succession, but for a brief resistance by Suresh Kumar, who scored 42 off 53 balls, the rest of the batsmen lost direction and succumbed to the big target to be reached. Pondicherry was all out for 175 to remain without success in the Vijay Hazare Trophy this year.
