In the league and knockout tournament for Women U-19 match played at Selaqui International School, Dehradun, the Manipur Women had a cake walk against Puducherry.
Having won the toss, Puducherry elected to bat first and the openers found it difficult to push through for runs. Opener Divya Shanmugam was out for naught after facing forty four deliveries, who was followed by Sumi Dutta without opening the account. However, the Ananya Halder (28 off 44 balls) supported the other opener Yuvashri, who scored 21 off 44 balls when the scoring was tough. With more than half of the allotted 50 overs went without scoring, Puducherry ended the innings 131 for 7. For Manipur, Prithi Tharkar finished with 3 for 16 off 10 overs.
Too many extras cost the match
In reply, Manipur almost felt the heat and the heartbeat of the team went high as they lost 8 wickets while trying the reach the target. With the lone fighter Dharani scoring 37 off 67 balls and the extras the second top scorer with 36, Manipur won the match by 2 wicket and 7.2 overs to spare. For Puducherry, Ananya Halder took 2 for 18 and Divya Shanmugam took 2 for 28.
