The First ever limited overs cricket tournament of CAP for Under-16 Girls
Ever since it’s inception and affiliation with BCCI, the Cricket Association of Pondicherry is hosting the limited overs cricket tournament for South-Zone Under-16 Girls category has been kick started and is being played at CAP-Siechem Cricket Ground, Puducherry, between January 12-28, 2019.

In the first match of Under-16 Girls in the South-Zone Inter-State limited overs cricket tournament played between Puducherry and Hyderabad at CAP-Siechem Cricket Ground, Tutipet, Puducherry, witnessed a rare bowling performance by Puducherry bowler Yuvashri.
Having won the toss, Hyderabad put Puducherry into bat first and the home team was sailing smooth till the third wicket fell at 65. Opener Lavanya, who scored a patient 31 off 66 balls, with 3 fours was haplessly watching the fall of wickets at the other end, except Amrutha Saran Satsangi, who scored 20 off 33 balls with 3 fours. Puducherry posted 78 runs for the loss of six wickets off the allotted 25 overs. For Hyderabad, Bhavana took 4 for 22 off 7 overs.
After setting a target of 79 to win for Hyderabad, Puducherry bowler Yuvashri jolted the visitors with a hat-trick in the fourth over of the innings when she dismissed Lasya, Hasini, Mamatha and Bhavana all for a duck. The new sensation, Yuvashri finished her fourth over with a rich haul of 4 wickets. However, the other opener Alevelu played a patient knock in the company of Kranthi Reddy (17 off 29 balls with 2 fours), for the fifth wicket as the 31 run partnership took the visitors nearer to safety.

The Puducherry youngster Yuvashri, who almost singlehandedly jolted the visitors with a hat-trick and returned with a figure of 7 overs, 5 for 32 has also bowled 32 dot balls, but for the wides and no balls which were the niggling factors, as her stellar performance went into vain with no effective support from the other end.
With Alevelu remaining unbeaten on 37 off 45 balls containing 5 fours, Hyderabad reached the target of 79 off 15.1 overs to win the match by 4 wickets and 9.5 overs to spare.
